[Sunrise]Meeting Agenda,20110607
Dear all,
We are lucky to have Jennifer to be our TME for her stage confidence and proficiency in English. Here comes her words,
As the TME, I came up with the theme as "What can be done to make Sunrise a better place?" Since we are having a brand new year with recently-selected officers, I think it would be a great timing for us to think about how to bring Sunrise to a higher level. We could disscuss this issue in various perspectives, either outing, leadership, English practicing, interaction among members or simply more snack to feed hungry people.
See you there on time,
Ray

2.The wonder outing organized by Nai-Ling in May is just done. We went to north coast line with many long-time-no-see friend. Sunset, Shallow, Sunlight composed the beautiful scenery there. But most of all, it is because of all the sunrise member there.
Theme
This is week, we have our president Edward to host the meeting and be our TME. As he mentioned in the theme description.
Education is very, very important for offspring. This idea is applied to all people of the world.
But the ways parents encourage their childern to learn are quite different between the West and the East.
For example, we, Chinese or Asian people, traditionally pay lots attention to our childern's education by sending them to cram school, employing tutors, etc.
If childern do not meet parents' expectation, they would be punished by no TV games, or more heavy study, etc.
However, if their grades are better than ever, they might receive tremendous rewards from parents. Whatever they dream would come true.
Childern usaully follow the ways parents have set for them. They are always taught, good grade, good university, good job, good salary, good life.
On the contrary, the Western would usually focus on how to cultivate childern's passion and custom for learning. Childern are self-conscious and self-displined.
This September, my son will attend the elementary school soon. Being a father, sure, I hope he could feel happy at school. On the other hand, good performance in grade is better. Sometimes, it's hard for me to tell what I do is "encouragement", "push" or "punishment"?
So, hope you can share your happy learning experience with us. Then my son would enjoy the fun of learning, I could also be satisfied with his good performance. That's win-win strategy!
